Oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea tends to work instantly!
The appliance comes with size 25mm connector in place. This provides slightly more than 3mm of lower jaw advancement.
Further movement of the lower jaw is required. Replacing connectors to a shorter pair. Carefully twist off two connectors of the same lengnth usually the 24mm size.
Remove any sharp edges on each connector with a sharp tool.
Hinge the upper end, has small nipple, onto the button of the upper guard.
Pull the connector down firmly until it engages with the button.
If the connector does not firmly engage with the button, remove and engage the other end of the connector. The nipple is on the part of the connector that attaches to the button on the top guard.
Hinge the lower end of the connector, onto the lower button of the lower guard.
Pull the connector so it slides easily along the button.
With both connectors properly engaged, your sleep appliance is ready to use.
