Cleaning Your Night Guard (Complete Instructions)
DAILY CLEANING
Before brushing your teeth, rinse the mouthguard with water and gently brush the inside of the guard using your toothbrush. Rinse the guard, and place it into the anti-microbial storage container.
DEEP CLEAN YOUR NIGHT GUARD
Soak the night guard in hydrogen peroxide for at least 5 more minutes. Once finished, rinse with water and allow the next night guard to dry completely. The final way you can deep clean your night guard is to use a mixture of mouthwash and water. Pour a full cap of mouthwash into a glass or bowl and then dilute the water until the night guard is submerged in the solution. Let your night guard soak for at least 15 minutes and then rinse the night guard and allow it to dry completely on a clean flat surface.
Pro Tip: Don’t ever leave your night guard soaking in anything for longer than 30 minutes. Extended time in liquid can damage the material your night guard is made of.
KEEP YOUR CASE CLEAN
Cleaning your night guard can become a wasted effort if you put a clean night guard into a dirty case. Keep the case clean by hand washing it every few days with regular dishwashing detergent. Avoid placing the case in the dishwasher as a high temperature may melt or work the plastic. Plastic night guard cases do wear out over time, so we recommend replacing your case every 4-6 months or as needed.
