Adjusting To Your New Partial Denture
Congratulations! You've made a great decision to invest in your dental health and self esteem. You now have a professionally made #flexiblepartialdenture or an #acrylicpartialdenture. Your new appliance was made using your upper and lower dental impressions.
If you're experiencing a tight fit, this is ok, as it is normal. Let your mouth get used to the appliance and ease into wearing it full time. Try wearing your device with 10-20 minute intervals. Allow time for your teeth and gums to adjust to having a dental appliance in the space. If you feel pain or discomfort while wearing your new dental appliance, stop using it immediately and contact us, 323-902-1175.
Remember, The Clear Guard provides adjustments at no charge until your partial fits comfortably. Give us a call or email to discuss what needs to be done to the appliance to make it right.
These are a few options you can do in the meantime to help with the adjustment period.
– Eat soft foods
– Remove appliance when sleeping
– Clean daily
– Gradually work your way up to using your appliance all day, 10-20 minute at a time
– Use an over-the-counter denture relief cream or gel
